About Loll

Loll Designs understands the relationship between the furniture one buys and the ability to enjoy it in a healthy environment. Our products are fabricated with 100% recycled and recyclable high-density polyethylene (HDPE), reclaimed primarily from milk jugs. In every pound of a Loll product there are an estimated 8 recycled milk jugs being used. In 2010, Loll Designs reclaimed nearly 6 million milk jugs in our products!

Loll Designs’ history begins with the 1997 inception of TrueRide, a design and build contractor specializing in custom municipal skateboarding parks. TrueRide’s founders started with a commitment to environmental responsibility and they found ways to repurpose leftover skate park construction material as Loll Designs (www.lolldesigns.com) and Epicurean Cutting Surfaces (www.epicureancs.com).

Outside Hawksboots Manufacturing FacilityOur design/manufacturing facility called "Hawks Boots Manufacturing Facility", acquired in 2005, was an 80-year‐old manufacturing facility. First and foremost, the site itself required an extensive brownfield clean‐up and rehabilitation project. The facility was then refurbished and adapted into a functional workshop and an adjoining second‐story modern office space was added on the roof. The office is naturally lit and requires no artificial light most days, has passive solar heating, and natural ventilation. The remodeled facility offers a clean and aesthetically-pleasing site, a healthy improvement and substantial asset for the local community.

Inside Hawksboots Manufacturing FacilityEfficiency is a focal point, from production practices to actual product use. Our production schedule is run with a one-week delay to build up orders to better utilize raw material yield, creating less waste, which is virtually all sent to a local recycling plant. Our stainless steel and brass hardware is ingeniously hidden with our "lock block" assembly system, which enables parts from a Loll product to be simply exchanged and recycled, if damaged. Further, our products can then be shipped flat-packed in 100% post-consumer recycled packaging to involve light, engaging assembly.
